The mountain walk,

If you Plaka village in a northerly direction walk you just before the first hairpin bend, an unpaved road to the right, which you must take. Further on the road splits in three, we take the left road soaring. After 20 min strong climb to reach the top asphalt. Now go right and you follow a while, the road to the village Vrouhas leads. Just for a windmill ga your right asphalt road and follow you all the time in a northerly direction. You pass a small church and still hold a fork right (always walk in a northerly direction). You walk through a wind farm in the distance you'll no doubt the small chapel of Agios Ioannis have seen. After a rest break at the church, you walk back in a southerly direction. Links drops a small, broad path in the direction of the coast. This take you. You will now return to Plaka all the time with a fantastic view over the beautiful Mirabello Gulf and the island of Spinalonga. You come back from the junction where we just left the upward path taken. So turn left and you're back to square one.

The story of an engine driver,

At the end of August 2007 we visited Crete for a short travel holiday..
To make this Greek island routes from the engine to visit is the easiest to make a plane to fly to Crete and on the spot to rent a motor. With the engine can reach the island after a journey of about 2800 km and at least 2 crossing with a ferry.
Crete and the rest of Greece are not known for its traffic Security. The same traffic rules as the rest of Europe, but nobody here really seems to hold. Good asphalt or paved roads are not obvious. The road surface is worn in many places and is full of holes. When rain turns the ground into a slide. With the high temperatures is not comfortable driving in a safe driving suit. Take your love for all this, it is there, especially with an enduro or an all-road motorcycle, beautiful drive, especially with sun glasses on.
In this report we hope a good impression of the island and useful information for motorcyclists to give.

Visit Chania,

Chania, the beautiful capital of Western Crete. Chania is a nice city, but also a traffic hub and market center.
We found a parking place in a narrow street near the sea Kretische.
The most enjoyable aspect is the old port. The port is surrounded by houses and Venetian arsenals (pack houses). The color rich fishing boats move there lustig away. On the boulevard are many cafes and restaurants. The waiters prices for their meals. One of them is that we come from the Netherlands and begins to tell his brother in the Netherlands in Limburg a Greek restaurant.

Continue west Crete,

From Chaniá city, the coast road as saying of the places Chrysi Akti, Kalamáki and Agia Marina via Kolymbári order finally to arrive at the port instead Kastelli Kissamou by the Cretans simple Kastelli said. From here leave several ferry boats to various Greek islands. Kíssamos was in Roman times has a city and then the port instead of the ancient city Polirrinía. Until this day in Kíssamos on gravingen done. From the port can be in a boat to take Gramvóusa. This is almost an island with the same point on the island and the island of Agria Gramvóusa. The silver island and the coast-lying islands, after not enough residents. On the southernmost island Gramvóusa is a large, and in the past proved impregnable, fort that the Venetians have built to pirates, who had their base of the island road to take.
7 km land inward, the ruins of the old city Polirrinía, once the main city of Crete. The second port of Polirrinía was Falássarna, in ancient times an important commercial shipping and naval center. There are still many remnants of the old city from the 5th and 4th centuries BC. to see. There is one other stone throne to see, which nobody knows the origin and age. Also known Falássarna road as the beautiful sandy beaches Balos Tigani. They say one of the most beautiful of all Crete.

The country lies within the mountains of Topólia starting with the same namige village, it is a beautiful natural area of some 1500 meters long. The mountain walls of the gap in some places reached a height of 300 meters and are well vegetated.

Holidays work on Crete, the report of a holiday worker,

Many students go in the summer months a good few months working in Crete and especially in tourist places such as Hersonissos and Malia. It all seems very nice and it is real, but you must suffer for love take. The easiest way to find work in Crete is just off the bars and clubs and ask if they still need someone. This is often the case, but expect no great job as a waiter. The waiters or Greek or works throughout tourist season. If there is work for you, you can generally annoying chores like wash refurbishing. Stay focus, good looking and let people know that you want to work. Then you will find the best job!

The island of Santorini, you must agree to visit, recommended!

Santorini is the southernmost and most famous island of the Cyclades in the Aegean sea. From Crete are many boat trips offered to Santorini. Therefore we spend on this website a little attention to this island.
The name Santorini is from St. Irene (Irini Sant). Santorini consists of one large island and several smaller islands. The group of islands created by volcanic activity. The result is a large island. Due to a large volcanic eruption many parts of the island have been swept away, there are several small islands remaining. Besides the main island of Thira that Thirasia, Aspronisi, Palea Kameni and Nea Kameni. In all the islands have an area of approximately 73 square kilometers. The great eruption, 1628 years before the beginning of our era, caused an over 100 meter high tidal wave, leaving a large part of the Minoan culture on Crete was destroyed.

Santorini is inhabited by a total of approximately 13,670 people. Most of them live on the island of Thira. This name comes from the Doriërs where one Thira to power. In Thira, you will find the capital of the island: Fira. This town is top of the steep rocks and consists of a large number of white houses with blue roofs round, from the lava are carved. For the blue and white was chosen as a conflikt They then banned the use of the Greek flag and decided the people's house in the colors of the flag painting.

Useful tips about accommodation on Crete,

On Crete you really think all types of accommodations from simple houses, apartments to super luxury hotels and private villas, in varying price and very many different locations, from very quiet to very loud especially in the nightlife.
A great advantage over countries and regions in tourism development, the likelihood that you affected by building work is very small. A quiet hotel will often really quiet.

Where do you look like when you book an accommodation in Crete,

As a 5 star holidays hotel in Crete is really a 5 star hotel in terms of service and quality.
A very quiet and rural accommodation almost in the middle of nowhere is, read the information carefully and try to determine how the situation really is, before you know you can not without the hotel taxi or rental car.
A lively complex?, Probably visited by many young people, sometimes not too closely with the fats oens standards.
All inclusive for people all inclusive hotels are used for example in the Caribbean, the Crete against falls, tropical destinations, the cost prices are often so low that the all inclusive package that is offered is also very complete, at Crete see rather large differences in the all inclusive offer, some hotels are very complete, but it can also happen that the next 3 meals only wine, beer and soft drinks with meals included and nice activities.
Some (hotels, apartments) have too little or too much gloor in the pools added, let it in connection with nasty diseases.
